At least, after a long week’s wait, I am finally equipped with a pair of Crizal lenses, thanks to Vibes Communication and Essilor. I made a trip to Capital Optical early in the morning (10.30am to be exact) to be the first customer there.
Enthusiastically started my own experiments and tests, and found out that the ‘Crizal’ watermark is missing from my lenses. Called up Capitol and they found out from the supplier that my lenses are from an old batch which didn’t have the watermark engraved on them. However, the preliminary tests I did, showed not much differences from my own lenses. This may be due to the placebo effect, but lenses don’t seem to resist fingerprint smudges and water droplets that well.
I will go and replace the lenses before I comment any further.
So for all who are interested or are going to get Crizal lenses, please remember to get the certificate of authenticity AND to check for the hidden watermark/hologram on your lenses.
The certificate is a small little credit card sized thingy.
To check for the hologram/watermark, breathe out on your lenses, or put it in front of an aircon vent for a while to get some fine water droplets to condense on the lenses, you should get this…
